2017 Finished up strong with some amazing Freeport Flounder Gigging. Some Giants were gigged during December, and is carrying on into January. Also, we had some action packed Bay and Marsh Fishing for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, BaySnapper, and Black Drum. The duck hunting has been good, an allot of birds have been pushed down with the colder weather we have experienced.

The Flounder Gigging in Freeport and West Galveston Bays have been very good when Mother Nature cooperates. We are keying in on calm shorelines adjacent to drains and deep water. Clear water is always a norm this time of year. Cooler water temps equate to clear water.

The Bay and Marshes of Freeport are producing nice fish. Chocolate Bay, Christmas Bay, San Luis pass and Oyster Creek have lots of fish right now. We are having our best luck using live shrimp under popping corks, and live mullet fished on bottom. When water temperatures drop, the deeper ‘holes’ and drop offs are producing the best. There is allot of ‘dead’ water when this happens, but when we locate the fish… they are stacked.

Our Freeport and Galveston Duck Hunts have been very successful lately. We have a significant amount of red heads in the bays, and make for an action packed shoot. Lots of decoys is always the key to successful bay hunts.

Spring Break is around the corner, and we are very excited for the upcoming spring fishing. Lodging is now available for our out of town Spring Breakers, and the fishing here during the Spring is exceptional! Give us a call and book your Freeport Spring Break Fishing Trip today! 409-739-8526
