The past week has been great for fishing both inshore and offshore in Galveston and Freeport, Texas. The inshore bite in Galveston has been very good for speckled trout, redfish, Spanish mackerel, pompano, BaySnapper, black drum, and sharks are showing up as well. The best bait lately has been live shrimp freelined along both the north and south Galveston Jetties. Also, the beachfront has had very good water clarity and the speckled trout are being caught tight in the surf. As water temperatures continue to rise, more tide runner specks will be showing up along the passes as well.
This is a great time of year to bring experienced and non-experienced anglers out fishing here in Galveston and Freeport, Texas. Families and kids are having a blast fishing with our Family Friendly Freeport Fishing Guides. The jetties and beachfront offer such a great fishery for those wanting to catch a variety of species and get lots of fish catching action.
Our Deep Sea Charters have been having great success with very large Red Snapper. Also, the kingfish have showed up, and they are always great to add to a large box of red snapper. We are only having to run out 30 miles for the big snapper, but as the season moves on we will need to venture further out to get the larger fish. Also, the Gulf Shrimping Season will open on the 15th of July. What does this mean for our Freeport, Texas Deep Sea Fishing Charters? After catching our limits of red snapper then we will be trolling the anchored boats during the day for wahoo, kings, mahi, tuna, cobia, sail fish and more! This is some of our favorite fishing type of fishing out on the Gulf.
